Program Goals
- To offer a recreational/introductory dragon boat racing experience with a major emphasis on fun and skill development
- To provide an outlet for community members of any age with little or no experience looking for fun, fitness and a low level of commitment and competition
- To provide an outlet for current club members looking to reduce their time and/or competitive commitment
- To have a full roster featuring 20 – 24 athletes
Expected Roster Sizes
20 - 24 athletes, 1 steersperson
Training Schedule:
Tuesdays: 7 – 8:30pm
Thursdays: 7 – 8:30pm
2012 Regatta Schedule:
June 3rd: Pickering Dragon Boat Challenge
August 18th: Quinte Sprints, Belleville, Ontario
2012 Important Dates:
March 31st: PDBC 10th Anniversary Party @ The Lake House
May 6th: PDBC Season Kick-Off Meeting
May 1st: 1st On-Water Practice of Season
August 24th: PDBC End-of-Season Banquet, Forestbrook Community Church, Ajax
August 25/26th: Guinness Book of World Records 24hr paddle
