Spring Training Week – Myrtle Beach
Sunday April 15th to Friday April 20th

Purpose
The PDBC Spring Training Camp is designed for all athletes within the club to optimize their pre-season preparation with a focused technical development and training regimen in a warm weather climate. The training week is designed to coincide with the immediate commencement of the on-water season upon return.
Members preparing for the 2012 Club Crew World Championships are strongly encouraged to attend and all other paddlers should be ensured they will receive a highly developmental and overall great paddling experience solidified through great coaching, great friendships and great training. Even if you are not intending to participate in the Club Crew World Championships this event will drastically improve your dragon boat paddling and enjoyment of the sport.
Program
Crews will be assembled based upon registration and train 2x per day, the focus will be on maximum individual and team improvement throughout the week utilizing such tools as video review and individual coaching. Athletes can expect a week of excellent coaching, good paddling and a great week of camaraderie.
Schedule:
The initial day of training is Sunday April 15th and the final day of training is Friday April 20th, it is recommended that athletes utilize Saturday April 14th and Saturday April 21st as travel days.

The evening of Sunday April 22nd will feature the PDBC Season Kick-Off Meeting in Pickering
The evening of Monday April 23rd will feature the 1st PDBC On-Water Practice of the season

Rates
Suites have 1 to 3 bedrooms. Rates are between $102.30 USD to $146.30 USD. Parking is complimentary. The Resort’s room rates are subject to a 17.4% tax and resort fee. An additional fee will be charged for any extra person in the room.
Athletes are welcome to reserve any accommodations they see fit however for maximum team building advantages it is recommended that athletes reserve together.
The training site is a 6 minute drive from Avista resort.

Recommended Travel
Vehicle - Myrtle Beach is approximately a 16hr drive from Toronto and this would be the most economical method of transportation. The training location is a 6 minute drive from Avista Resort. Teammates may decide to carpool and travel together.
Airline - Myrtle Beach is a popular destination of airlines operating from Toronto and Buffalo. Durham Travel is the official travel agency of the Pickering Dragon Boat Club.
Insurance
It is the responsibility of each participant to obtain his own insurance and ensure that they adequately cover the participation in this camp, round trip, and all risks that may be incurred.
Waiver
Every participant must fill out the waiver form to be authorized to participate in the camp. The waiver form must to be sent with the registration form and payment to Pickering Dragon Boat Club before the camp.

Notification will be made via email if space is still available after January 1st
Cost
$320+HST = $361.60
Refund policy
Requests for refunds or cancellations must be received in writing (mail, fax or email) to be effective.
Before February 1st: 80% of the amount will be refunded;
Between February 1st and Feb 28th: 50% of the amount will be refunded;
After Feb 28th: no refund.
